Historic Preservation Fund:
Do you support stable and robust funding for the Historic Preservation Fund?
No
Would you support efforts to reauthorize and increase the Historic Preservation Fund?
No
I don’t know anything about it, but we’re $35T in debt. My answer is we can’t afford it until someone gives me a briefing on it and I understand why it’s necessary. But, I’m willing to listen.
Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives:
Would you support efforts to modernize and enhance the Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit (HTC) program?
Yes
I believe taxation is theft. So, any chance I can get to give taxes back to We the People, I’m for it.
Do you support the Federal Historic Preservation Easement program?
No
It depends on the building (significance) and the cost to rehabilitate it.
Historic Preservation Protections:
Would you support policies that ensure that the impact on historic and cultural resources continue to be considered as part of the federal project planning process?
Unsure
I can’t give a yes/no answer to something involving several policies.
Does historic preservation play an important role in your state/district? How so? Describe any personal connections to historic preservation or historic sites. Is there a specific historic place in your district that is important to you and your constituents?
Yes. We have many historic buildings and districts. I am not wed to any of them. Whether I support preservation of a property depends on the particulars of said property.

As a professional in the trade industry, Residential Remodeling, I have been privileged to partner with, work on, and have first hand knowlege of Historic homes and site preservation. The Historic Preservation Fund has an important role of ensuring our most treasured properties are restored for future generations.

As a contractor, I have been privileged to tour, bid, and work on historic properties. Maryland’s 5th Congressional district has a tremendous history of first settlements, along with Native lands. Agrotourism is a large draw in Southern Maryland, often connected to the homes of founding fathers, plantations, or Piscatoway Conoy sites which historic preservation plays a critical role. I am also a mother of six who operates a homeschool educational center located on historic grounds (Christ Church Accokeek- Cir. 1698) we have personally benefited from efforts of organizations like HPF.
