We were thrilled to help kick off the 2025 PastForward Conference and an exciting week of activities in Milwaukee. We had a great time at the beautiful Milwaukee County Historical Society, which is located in a former bank building and provided the perfect setting for the Live Auction. We were excited to welcome Preservation Action board member and Executive Director of the National Preservation Partners Network, Kim Trent, as co-host of our Live Auction. She was joined by our special guest auctioneer for the evening, Dear Ruthie, one of Milwaukee’s premier drag queens, comedians, and performers. Dear Ruthie brought her energy and enthusiasm to the event and helped celebrate the long, storied history of Milwaukee drag.

Our annual auction is Preservation Action Foundation’s largest fundraiser. The dollars in auction funds raised go to support the mission of the Preservation Action Foundation.
The proceeds from this event are used to assist in education and training, advocacy for preservation policy, and programs. Our most visible contributions to preservation advocacy are; a weekly Legislative Update, organizing National Historic Preservation Advocacy Week, and Advocacy Scholars. The Preservation Action Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity; your prize donation and could be tax-deductible. Check with your tax professional.
